The day has come. I don't think I slept last night. After a frantic, insanity day, going 200 miles per hour, we "went to bed" at 4:00am.
Our last day in Portland was spent moving out of our house, lifting boxes, and strategically cramming our life puzzle pieces into a storage unit - Tetris style.
On top of the never ending tedious chores (aka sorting socks), there was A LOT of "we're almost done!".... But it never ended. There was always something that surprised us by continuing to be unpacked. It's those heavy, odd shaped, huge, too teeny, fragile, or otherwise invisible items that slip past you. For instance - last minute - where do you put your wisdom teeth? What about feathers? Cutting boards? WHERE ARE THE BIKES GOING?
Ultimately, surprisingly, everything found a place. Even the bikes.
And we're off!
This morning was a mad dash to the airport. Only after disassembling our bounce boxes one more time, for good measure, and retrieving important items that we accidentally packed.
Last night at some point while I was not sleeping, but should have been, I panicked - "WHERE'S MY FIRST AID KIT?!?" I woke up extra early to hunt for it in my (already posted and taped) boxes only to be reminded that it is already in San Diego along with my other gear. So glad Ben remembered that little tidbit.
IT'S HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING IT'S HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING IT'S HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING IT'S HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING
