DAY 84: CHORES IN SOUTH LAKE TAHOE

The day of chores.

Although we just had 3 full zero days in a row at Evergreen Lodge, we did not get a whole lot of chores done. We actually relaxed, for the first time EVER on this trip, while hanging out in Yosemite. Now - it was time to do real chores.

Chores such as:

Fixing things that are ripped
Bleaching things
Shopping for food for the next section
Blogging ;)
Dealing with the fact that I got summoned for Jury Duty
Cleaning things in my pack
Ordering things

....you get it. It's always a mad dash when we are in town to finish all of our chores AND have time to relax and sit back and rarely we have time to just relax.

South Lake Tahoe is known for being one of the best town stops on the trail, however, it was quite stress-inducing for me. It's very spread out, not all that hiker friendly, and requires a vehicle for anything.

This is why Dr. Slosh and Smiles are BRILLIANT. They rented a U-Haul Van. 19.95 flat rate/per day. You get the picture... right?

The night ended with a proper nacho night with all of the fixin's and we had one of the most hilariously fun night... ever.

All of our boxes...

Needing to go to the Post Office to send out our extra food and bounce boxes.

We repeatedly use boxes in order to save on waste... but they are getting quite tattered.

A thru-hiker still life.

What a pack explosion looks like.

Going to the Post Office, the library, and the grocery store.

What we do: lounge in coffee shops and use all of the outlets we can find.

The beginnings of a nacho night!
